Using a derma roller to improve your skin is a great idea. There are a number of benefits that an at home microneedle device, like our Sdara Skincare Derma Roller, can bring to your skin. It can give you an overall more radiant and glowing complexion. That’s just the beginning.

Going further, when used on a regular basis a derma roller can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, fade old acne scars and discoloration on the skin’s surface for a more even look, and exfoliates dead skin cells for better texture.

But did you know that one of the best parts of using a derma roller has to do with the aftercare? It’s true. Using the derma roller can help all of your skincare products to be absorbed more effectively to allow them to work better for your skin. So the lesson is that what you use after your microneedling session is very important. Let’s look at some tips about microneedling aftercare that will help you get your skin in the best shape possible.

Using Your Derma Roller

In case you need a brief lesson on how to best use your derma roller, it’s easy. All you have to do is cleanse your face with your regular facial cleanser and pat it dry thoroughly. Then take out your Sdara Skincare Derma Roller and sanitize the device with some alcohol. Rinse it off with some water after that.

Next start to roll it over your face 4-5 times in one direction. Do this all over your face including your forehead, chin, and cheeks. You can also bring it down your neck into your décolletage. Many people don’t treat their neck and chest effectively, but this is an area that shouldn’t be ignored. Aging shows up on the neck and décolletage too. Repeat this step by rolling it again 4-5 times in the other direction all over the same areas. That’s all you have to do before you are ready for your aftercare.

Your Three Step Aftercare System

In order to get the most out of your microneedling session with your derma roller it’s vital to use the right skincare. Layering on your aftercare products will help you get the most benefits from your skincare routine.

Ideally you want to use a treatment serum, facial oil, and your regular moisturizer. This is going to effectively treat any skincare issues you are having such as uneven tone and texture, dryness, improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and even prevent premature aging.

Keep in mind that after you have used the derma roller your skin is primed to absorb all of your skincare treatments much better than if you didn’t use the derma roller. That’s mainly due to the fact that the derma roller is exfoliating the skin so well. When you get rid of layers of dead skin cells that newer skin underneath is going to have less barrier to the absorption of the skincare products.

If you want to brighten and improve the radiance of your skin, you can try our Sdara Skincare Vitamin C Serum. This is a serum that is chock full of vitamin C, which is a potent antioxidant that is extremely beneficial for the skin. Plus, this serum also contains hyaluronic acid which acts as a moisture binder for the skin, plumping it up to make it more supple and soft. Totally hydrated and infused with moisture from the inside out. Using this serum will help to turn around a dull complexion making it more youthful and energized. It also helps promote elasticity, so that sagging skin is less of a problem. As we age, a loss in elasticity is a natural problem that occurs. Using the best antioxidants can help to fix the problem.

To use the vitamin C serum, apply a small amount to your skin and gently rub it in. A little bit goes a long way with this powerful vitamin-based serum.

Next you want to use a facial oil if you have normal to dry skin. We recommend our Marula Oil. This is pure cold-pressed marula oil which is going to be especially soothing for aftercare in microneedling. It can help to reduce any redness you have from the sheer manipulation of your skin with the device.

Marula oil is also full of antioxidants, vitamin E and C, and it will help to protect the skin against free radicals in the environment that contributes to aging. It also has omega-9 fatty acids for superior moisturize and healthy skin. Apply 3-4 drops of the oil to your skin and pat it in.

Finally, you can finish the routine with your regular moisturizer, both day and night.

A Word About Sunscreen

As with any aftercare routine, it’s important to use a daily sunscreen to protect your skin. We have a new Sdara Skincare Mineral Sunscreen that is coming out soon with SPF 30. It’s perfect for daily protection with non-nano zinc oxide and titanium dioxide as the main active ingredients. Plus, it has an abundance of other skin loving ingredients like cocoa butter and aloe vera to help make your skin feel soft and protected.

It’s especially important to use a sunscreen when you are using vitamin C treatments on the skin. They can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Having that daily protection with the right sunscreen should fit seamlessly into your routine. Luckily the mineral sunscreen feels lightweight and sheer on the skin. You’ll love how non-greasy and satiny smooth your skin will feel each time you wear it.
